Connectivity: Engaging your workforce, customers and your business!

With technology advancing at a phenomenal rate and showing no signs of slowing down, many business owners are asking themselves one important question, “how technologically savvy is my business?”

We are all aware of the benefits to customers of having 4G rolled out across various cities in the UK and new found speed, up to 40 Mbps, on a smartphone or tablet. But one aspect of this roll out that has had little coverage is how 4G will positively impact businesses throughout the UK. The focus of today’s blog is to highlight some of the benefits many businesses will experience as 4G becomes more widespread. Let’s get moving…

Increased productivity

One of the benefits of having connectivity on the move is that many businesses can now adopt mobile working practices and ensure a more dynamic work force. For example, in the UK we are not at a stage where Wi-Fi is freely available everywhere and 3G is limited for the transfer of large files or applications such as video calling.

A much faster connection is needed in these cases and that is where many businesses will feel the effects of 4G. With a strong 4G network, these solutions can be brought to fruition as businesses can greatly reduce costs. Reducing the need for employees to travel as well as cutting office space will allow more people to work from home and aid productivity.

Developing a mobile presence

With the need to access information on the move, 4G will positively impact how customers and businesses will acquire this knowledge. Currently, with Wi-Fi not freely available, a lack of connectivity sometimes makes the prospect of shopping/accessing information on a mobile device quite a frustrating experience. Customers tend to head to a laptop or pc, rather than mess about with a poor mobile signal.

The advent of 4G will revolutionise the way customers interact with a business’s mobile website or app. With much faster connectivity, customers will be able to order products, enquire about services or just find additional information whilst on the move.

Better service for customers

The top 3 obstacles preventing customers from shopping on their mobile devices are typically slow connection speeds, payments timing out and network reliability. However, 4G connectivity allows the opportunity to remove these barriers and offer a better service, pleasing the consumer and seeing profits increase for a business.

The fact that businesses can access faster connections means businesses can bring new features to their products or services unlike ever before, exciting their users and building up new ventures within a company. Businesses should look now to ready themselves, innovate and make sure they are prepared to offer both their employees and their customers the great experience 4G will bring.
