How social media integration on your website can increase sales

All businesses should be active on social media. No matter how big or small, no matter your product, services, industry or subject matter; social media is the ultimate way to communicate, build trust, showcase innovations and raise awareness with your potential customers. Many businesses have links to their social media accounts in their footer, header or perhaps on their contact page, but is there more you could be doing?Dedicating an entire section on your website to social media feeds could just be the boost you need and here’s why.

Reviews Especially useful for clothing, jewellery, makeup and fashion retailers, many people are sharing their consumer success stories on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. The art of ‘unboxing’, where a customer will unpack the products they have recently bought, try them on and review them is hugely popular and will often rake in views in the hundreds of thousands. Harnessing this power by sharing these on your own social media and having them pull through to an area on your website is essentially free marketing and can be a boost to you and your customers. Communication The FAQ section can be a vital area for any website depending on your subject matter. However, no matter how well curated this section may be, there will always be customers who use social media to seek your help. A series of Tweets or LinkedIn posts answering your customers’ most pressing questions could help open up a valuable channel of communication. Instagram has recently added an ‘Ask me a question’ button which a business can add to their stories on Instagram and Facebook, helping your customers find out what they need to know directly from the source. Integrating social media with your website in this way can help share this information easier. Personality Sites which have video, photography or graphics are proven to hold a viewers’ attention for far longer than those without, so integrating a more visual medium like Instagram or YouTube to your website is smart. The famous adage, ‘people buy people’ often springs to mind in any discussion about businesses and social media, and it continues to ring true. Showing your company’s social media adds personality and showcases to your customers that, not only are you a business to be trusted, you are creating an environment everyone should aspire to be a part of.
