One of the great things about being your own boss having invested in a mobile app business opportunity is that you can take an hour out to watch the World Cup if you want to! For those that aren’t so lucky, there are loads and loads of football and Word Cup apps to choose from. These are a lesson in the power of creating a very timely app and one almost certain to get downloads and engagements – for the duration of the tournament at least!
If you can’t tear yourself away from your desk, this is our round up of the best apps available right now to keep track of all the action from Russia between now and the World Cup final on 15 July.
#1 The Official FIFA World Cup App
Whether you’re a football novice or diehard fan, the official app is a great starting point and packed with features. It’s almost a website and TV channel rolled into one, showing exactly how far you can take an app covering a major sporting event. There’s minute-by-minute action from every game in the tournament, video highlights, man of the match voting, match summaries, a Russia and stadium guide, player profiles and stats plus much more. It’s available on iOS and Android.
#2 World Cup App 2018: Russia
The World Cup App 2018: Russia has more than 1.5 million downloads on the App Store. It’s a handy companion for established fans, with a useful calendar of matches in your own local time, instant news in six languages and live results delivered via Push notification – perfect if you’re busy and can’t see the game live.
#3 BBC Sport
The BBC Spot app is ranked eighth in the App Store sports chart – if you’re a long time footie fan, it may already be downloaded and ready to go on your phone or mobile device. It’s not just football of course but, you can personalise what you want to see, follow live coverage, get news, analysis and live scores as well as instant updates via Push notifications – easier than calling up a browser window and hunting down the latest score.
#4 FotMob Live Football Scores
If you don’t want to be tempted to watch live coverage while you’re supposed to be doing something else, the FotMob app is the way to go. It keeps track of all of the live scores so you can see at a glance who’s doing well and who’s crashing out of the Cup. There’s also personalised news and notifications. Downloaded over 15 million times, it has a 4.8 rating on the App Store so may be one you want to keep after the World Cup ends.
