The face of marketing has experienced a rapid change over the last 20 years as technological advances have changed the way we view the world. With mobile devices experiencing phenomenal growth, businesses around the globe need to re-evaluate how they connect with their customers.

A simple stroll around any high street will demonstrate how consumers are fascinated with their mobile device, whether that’s browsing social media sites or playing the latest games – people are now attached to their smartphones.

Furthermore, visit any mobile phone shop and the only device you will see for sale is a smartphone. The premise behind the smartphone is to download apps and browse the internet, potentially two products you could be offering your clients.

With this being the case, how can you help businesses maximise mobile marketing?

Mobile Website – As a customer, it is frustrating to visit a website that is not configured for a mobile device and constantly having to zoom/pinch/rotate the mobile screen. For the average customer, after 10-15 seconds they will move away from the website and visit another site.

Help small/medium sized businesses retain customers that land on their website by having the site configured for mobile devices. Our HTML5 mobile websites are fully mobile enabled and render beautifully on mobile devices.

Mobile websites are very much a “ customer acquisition” tool as a customer lands on a business’s website, it is configured for their device and hence results in a pleasurable viewing experience. The customer is then more likely to browse the website and find out more about the businesses products/services.

iPhone and Android Apps – An app can help a business build a consistent relationship with their customers by offering additional services on the move. For example, an app can include features such as loyalty programmes, GPS directions and Shopping carts which engage the customer on their preferred medium (mobile device).

The use of apps also allow a business to send their customers push notifications, communicating special offers, deals and information relating to the customers’needs. The advantages of push notifications are that they are totally free (instant cost saving vs. text marketing), instantly pop up on the users’ handset and target every single customer that has downloaded the app.

Apps are a “ customer retention” tool in that they help businesses retain customers once they have tried their products/services. By having interactive features built into a app, a business is encouraging its customers to interact with the businesses consistently and frequently.
