Mobile App Reseller | iPhone 8 and iPhone X – What’s the Difference?

Eazi-Apps Support • 22 September 2017

The iPhone 8, which has come under scrutiny for its striking resemblance to the iPhone 7, didn’t seem to turn any heads at the recent Apple keynote event but the iPhone X has got the internet buzzing. To celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the iPhone, Apple has announced the release of what they claim is their most revolutionary device yet. But what really are the big differences between the two new iPhones? Well, let’s take a closer look.

Design

The iPhone 8 has retained the same design style as its predecessor, the iPhone 7 but features a glass panel back and less intrusive antenna lines. It also features the same 4.7-inch Retina HD display with a resolution of 1334×750 and is available in gold silver and space grey.

The iPhone X (ten) has taken on a new look and has a number of aesthetic differences, the most prominent being the screen size. The iPhone X is the first model to ditch the physical home button. It has an edge-to-edge screen and features a 5.8-inch Super Retina Display with a resolution of 2436×1125.

Camera

Apple has stuck with the same 12mp camera for the iPhone 8 which features a 1.8 aperture, 5x digital zoom and quad LED flash. The new model supports 1080p video recording at 240fps and 4K recording at 24, 30 and 60 fps.

The iPhone X has a 12MP dual camera setup featuring a 1.8 aperture wide-angle lens and a 2.4 aperture telephoto lens. This gives increased diversity when shooting in different environments. The iPhone X camera also features Portrait Lighting technology which produces studio quality selfies.

Hardware

Inside the iPhone 8, you’ll find Apple’s new 6-core A-11 Bionic chipset, which has been designed to run the latest version of IOS. The phone is available in a 64GB version or a 256GB version.

All of the new phones announced by Apple feature the same chipset and processor from Apple’s new Bionic tech. The iPhone X will come with a customised version of IOS11 and will be available with 64GB or 256GB of internal storage.

Extras

When it comes to extra features and gimmicks, the iPhone 8 hasn’t made any significant leaps forward in front of its predecessor. It still features an IP67 design and fingerprint recognition. Wireless charging is the biggest addition to the new model.

Apple has boasted a whole new range of extra features on the iPhone X including the revolutionary new facial recognition software which allows users to unlock their phone just by looking at it. Animated emojis and increased augmented reality capabilities are the other two additions that Apple has announced.
