September is upon us and we all know what that means; Apple’s summer launch announcements! Apple has confirmed that its launch event, cleverly named ‘By Innovation Only’ will be taking place today, 10 September. Apple fans worldwide will be tuning in to see what the global super brand has in store for the coming month’s releases and updates – and if you’ve taken up our mobile app development business opportunity , you too should keep your eyes peeled.
Apple has created its own monster though, as cliché as that may sound. The hype surrounding these events is often shadowed by the expectation of disappointment and the ongoing feeling that Apple seems to be plodding alone at its own pace. The brand has come under fire for producing must have updates and tech additions rather than unveiling the super exciting and cutting-edge items the horde of fans really want to see at the launch event.
2019 iPhone to debut?
It is expected that the 2019 iPhone models will be updated but, there are rumours these changes are necessary advancements from the iPhone X rather than big, groundbreaking advancements.
Expectations and rumours are swirling from various sources – so much so that Apple has confirmed some already ahead of the event. It has also been hinted that the new iPhone models (likely to be the iPhone 11) will be revealed with the usual incremental upgrades to cameras, faster processing chips, varying colours and of course being iOS 13 ready. Yes it’s an advancement, but it’s not much to get excited about. The new model phones are likely to start from a base price of $1,000 dollars, matching the current price for the iPhone XS.
Other (un)likely announcements
Some of the big rumoured advancements including the flip (folding) iPhone model, 5G capability and on-display fingerprint sensor all look as if they’re going to be on the back burner for a while longer yet. Particularly with the 5G capability, many tech watchers aren’t expecting Apple’s entry into this arena until late 2020 or even after.
With the other major players in the smartphone arena including Samsung, Google and of course the world’s largest telecoms device provider, Huawei all coming in hot this year with big innovations and fully stocked devices, Apple should have some cause for concern. Particularly when the rival handsets are available for a fraction of the price of the average top-drawer iPhone model.
It would have been hard for Apple to ignore the August announcement of the Galaxy Note 10 from Samsung which was packed with some of the best features we’ve yet to see in a single smartphone.
Let’s see what the brand bring to the table when By Innovation Only gets fully underway later.
