Together these users consume over 46,000 years’ worth of content every year. Out of the masses of content consumed by users on a daily basis, around 70% is accessed through mobile devices . Unlike many other apps, users of YouTube don’t simply hop on and off the app. The average session on YouTube is 40 minutes, which shows just how popular the global video platform has become.
Instagram has quickly become one of the biggest photo and video content sharing apps in the world with over 700 million users from around the globe. It has also become a brand expansion space for celebrities and highly regarded sports persoanlities. Since its inception in 2010, there have been over 40 billion pictures and videos shared on Instagram. The app continues to grow in popularity and so does the content with over 95 million photos being uploaded every day.
Snapchat
This social media platform has rapidly grown in popularity thanks to its ability to share self-deleting pictures and videos. With over 300 million monthly users and 173 million active daily users , Snapchat has become one of the most popular mobile apps on all major markets. Users of the app are among the most active, collectively sending over 3 billion snaps every day. To put that in perspective, it means that over 9,000 snaps are sent around the world every second.
